Fashion Theory
Who decides what in fashion?
The designers of high end fashion, trend predictors, bloggers decide what’s in fashion by looking at what going on around them e.g. celebrities, politics etc.
What is classic fashion?
Classic fashion is a type of fashion that doesn’t have a trend so it wouldn’t finish e.g. jeans, white shirts, black dress etc.
Write the stages of the trickle down/bubble up fashion.
Bubble up fashion is trend that starts of in the streets then is recognised by bloggers and celebrities and eventually becomes a trend that commonly done in the high end industries. the trickle down fashion is type of fashion that is done by high end designers that is then inspired by bloggers and is finally sold in high streets and worn by people in the streets.

Why is fashion pre – planned?
Its pre – planned beforehand because so that it could give
designers a chance to come up with designs that could be sold in time for when
a certain trend is out e.g. the trend predictors will predict what’s going to
be in fashion almost a year or half before, so that when the time comes for
when the trend they are ready to sell their garments.

My personal photo-shoot plan
I will need:
Model
Photographer
Location
Garment
Makeup and hair
Accessories
The model that I chose is friend that attends the same college as me, the model is called Andriana. I have chosen that model for my garment because she has the look that I wanted from her and also she has a friendly personality. The photographer that I have chosen is also a student at the Oldham College, she is called Laura Birbeck, and I’ve chosen that photographer because I’ve worked with her before in my last project. She’s a very good photographer and she’s also responsible and reliable.

Once I found the photographer and a model, I had to decide
the location of the shoot, which suits me, the photographer and the model. The location
of my photo-shoot is the Oldham college studio, the equipment that I will need
for the photo-shoot is going to be provide by the Oldham College because Laura
is going to book the camera and studio for the shoot.
The garment that’s going to be used on the photo-shoot is
going to be used in the shoot will be provided by me, the garment is a short
dress that above the knees and has long fabric at the back that trails behind
it, and the accessories for the shoot will be provided by the model, The accessories
that I need for the shoot are high heels that are gold or blue. The last thing
that I have planned is the type of poses that will be used in the shoot. The types
of poses that have planned are like serious but professional type poses that
are done on the catwalks.

Mood board of the photo-shoot
This is a moodboard that I edited using photoshop, on this this I got images that will inspire to oragnise my photoshot. it will give me diferent ideas for diferent poses that my model can do, and also I've got images for the acessories she could bring along with her in photoshoot. I've also researched on some images of the location of my photoshoot, and the make-up that could be done on her in the show. Within this moodboard I've also included the colour palette of my theme that because it'll give the makeup artists, photograpers ideas.
How to organise a photo-shoot
You will need:
·
Theme
·
Model
·
Makeup and hair dresser
·
Location
If you want to organise photo-shoot follow my top tips and
they will give you ideas and inspiration to improve your shoot. Firstly make sure you
make a mood board of images that will give you inspiration of pauses and garments
that could include in your shoot. Those images can be from fashion magazines,
internet, books or even images of other designers work or famous models. Or you
can even start without making too many preparations in the start you can just
tell your model to bring some clothes and your makeup artist can do her makeup
accordingly.
After you have an idea of what your theme is then start
thinking about where you can find your model and what you want from her. There
are many ways of finding a model you can look for some on modelling agencies
but unfortunately that option isn’t really budget friendly. You can also look
for someone within your friends or family it doesn’t matter if they don’t look
like supermodels as long as they have the look that fits your theme. But most
importantly make sure your model knows what she’s doing, if she doesn’t don’t
worry you can read something on posing or beauty shoot where it’s less about
the body and more about beauty.
The other thing that most important people that you’ll need
for photo-shoot are makeup artists and hair dressers, they will help the boost
the beauty of the model or crazy depending on the look you want. They are also
helpful in noticing little detail that you’ve missed out like the hair on the
face, or makeup that needs redoing etc. you can find people that study hair
dressing or makeup will be keen in working with you because they will need
images for their portfolio, or you can ask a model if she has anyone in mind
that she can contact for you.
The other thing that’s important and the hardest thing to decide
is the location because everyone has to be there at the same time and date that
suits everyone. While you’re deciding make sure you keep in mind where your
shoot will take place e.g. outdoors, indoors or in a studio and also consider
where the model will get changed and where you will do her make up. While you
are deciding make sure you get the contact details of everyone involved and day
before message everyone to confirm the shoot. If you’re shooting outside and
make sure you have a plan B just in case if the weathers bad and day before the
shoot make sure all your equipment is ready clean and charged for the big day.
On the big day make sure you don’t get disappointed of
little things, if you do notice something go wrong fix it but get too caught up
with the moment and forget to direct when it’s needed. Most importantly
communicate with the model and make sure she feels relaxed and content, because
if she looks award then then the image wouldn’t work. If you’re hosting an
event be nice, offer everyone at least a glass of water or cup of tea and
remember thing are not going your way don’t be upset and make everyone feel bad
instead take it as challenge.
